BRISBANE DISTILLERY GIN SCHOOL (BDC) TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Bookings and Full payment is required in advance.
Pre-paid gift cards are also regarded as payment. You can book online using you gift card code at checkout for payment. Please note that gift cards cannot be used to pay for private events.
All gift cards are non-exchangeable, non-refundable and non-transferable.
All Gin School classes are for 18 years and above, there are no exceptions.
All Gin School bookings individual bookings are for one individual and there is no facility for two people to share one booking.
If we haven’t reached the minimum number of 4 participants for a class, we reserve the right at our exclusive option to cancel the class up to 7 days prior to its date. We will inform you within 7 days of the class date and we will give you the option to either
a. Get a full refund, or rebook for another class in the case of a prepaid booking, or;b. Rebook for another class in the case of a gift card booking, at a later date in a form of a credit note valid until the original validity date.
If we have to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances including lockdowns or other Covid-19 related situations beyond our control, you will be notified as soon as possible and we will give you the option to either
a. Rebook for another class in the case of a prepaid booking, or;
b. Receive a gift card with a 3 year expiration date in the case of a prepaid booking, or;
c. Rebook for another class in the case of a gift card booking, at a later date in a form of a credit note valid until the original validity date of the original gift card.
As a fully operational Distillery, Brisbane Distillery (BDC) utilise nuts, wheat, barley, dairy, sugar and other raw natural ingredients and wholefoods on our premises every day. BDC is aware of potential allergies to these foods and the severity of the reactions some individual may experience.In the interest of safety and comfort of everybody attending our cooking classes, BDC has a “General Public Allergy Policy”.
This policy applies to all people entering the premises, whether you attend a general BDC cooking class or a private event. Please see our General Public Allergy Policy for more information and to fill in the indemnity form if needed prior to booking a class. BDC reserves the right to refuse entry to a Gin School class or a private event on the day (with no refund or class transfer available) if the student has a known allergy and hasn’t informed us prior to attending the class or hasn’t filled in the indemnity form. We will do our best to cater for people with Allergies, but need to remain informed.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS WHEN ATTENDING THE GIN SCHOOL OR OTHER BDC EVENTS
Classes run by The Gin School will start on time. We advise students to arrive on time for the beginning of the class. We kindly ask that you arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to class commencing as we will be starting on time.If a student is late for a class, it is extremely difficult to catch up with the rest of the class and minimise disruption as Gin School instructors will not have the time to interrupt the class and begin again for every late student. If you are more than 15 minutes late for a class you will not be able to start the class.
STUDENT HEALTH RESPONSIBILITY:
You will not attend if you have become ill within 48 hours before your class with any diseases such as colds and flu, diarrhoea, vomiting… As those sorts of diseases can be spread through food, we need to protect all our students.BDC Gin School reserves the right to refuse entry to a cooking class on the day (with no refund or class transfer available) if a student is deemed unwell and at the risk of infecting others during the class. If you become unwell are subject to travel restrictions due to illness we'd be happy to reschedule your classes subject to our cancellation policy below.
This is an immersive, hands-on class. You will be on your feet most of the time so please wear comfortable shoes. An apron will be provided on request.
CLASS INGREDIENTS & BOTANICALS:
As we are committed to serve you only the best produce, please note that some of the botanicals available for classes may vary slightly depending on product availability on the day, if you have a particular botanical you wish to use, you should ask us with sufficient time to get that botanical into stock. You cannot bring botanicals or ingredients into the Gin School.
Please note that some cameras are placed in the school and the classes can be filmed and broadcast live or at a later date. Some classes may be recorded and part of the content may be used for promoting future classes on Gin School online channels, including (but not restricted to) Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and both on our blog and newsletter.
RIGHT TO REFUSE:
BDC reserves the rights to refuse a student to attend a class/during the class if the instructor or one of his assistants feels they are intoxicated or may cause harm to themselves or anyone else attending the scheduled class or event. These are State Licencing Laws and there are no exceptions.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY:
When participating in a Gin School class or event where the students or participants will be around or using hot and potentially dangerous equipment used in a distillery environment, the student releases, indemnifies and excludes Brisbane Distillery and its employees from any and/or liability of any kind for any damage or injury is incurred while attending or visiting The Gin School.
DAMAGE/LOSS OF PERSONAL PROPERTY:
BDC will take all necessary care, but accepts no responsibility for the damage to or loss of merchandise or personal belongings left in the venue prior to, during or after a class or event. BDC is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal items in any form. If a student does happen to leave an item in class, the student has 14 days to retrieve the item otherwise BDC will donate it to charity.
DAMAGE/LOSS of BDC PROPERTY:
The student or function organizer may be held financially responsible for any damage to or loss of BDC property during the class or event. The cost of repairing any damage to equipment, walls, doors or other parts of the property as a result of inappropriate conduct will be charged to the person or hiring company involved.
CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND THE CONTROL OF BDC:
Should BDC be unable to provide for your class or event due to circumstances beyond the control of BDC, BDC is not responsible for any costs, damages or expenses that you may suffer or incur.

CANCELLATION POLICY FOR GIN SCHOOL AND ANY CUSTOM EVENTS
Booking of 3 people or less
Cancellation notification must be done in writing via email addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org. A call or a voicemail will not be accepted as a notification.
Full refund is available if cancellation is up to 6 weeks prior to a class date. No refund is available if cancellation is within 6 weeks and up to 72 hours prior to the event. However, you can exchange for another class. In this case we will issue you with a credit note valid for up to 6 months from the issuing date. No refund or exchange for another class is available if cancellation is within less than 72 hours to 24 hours prior to the class. However, you may send someone else to attend the class. Please notify us via email at email@example.com if this is going to be the case. Please give us your full name and order number, together with the full name and contact details of the person attending.
If you are unable to send someone else to attend the class, you will be offered a partial refund of 50% of your ticket value in a form of a Credit Note as a gesture of goodwill. Credit Note issued will be valid for a period of 6 months and can be redeemed on our website only. Credit Notes are not redeemable for cash and cannot be resold or exchanged.
Your ticket(s) will be forfeited if you don’t show up for the class or you cancel your ticket(s) within 24 hours prior to the class.
Bookings of 4 or more people are classed as an Event Booking.

Our policy lasts 24 hours. If 24 hours have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. There are no returns or refunds on hand sanitiser under any circumstances, there are NO EXCEPTIONS to this clause.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.
To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted:
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
Any item that is returned more than 24 hours after delivery or collection.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at and send your item to: Brisbane Distillery, 99 Jane Street, West End, QLD 4101.
To return your product, you should mail your product to: Brisbane Distillery, 99 Jane Street, West End, QLD 4101. You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.

This website is operated by Brisbane Distillery. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Brisbane Distillery. Brisbane Distillery offers this website, including all information, tools and services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.
By visiting our site and/ or purchasing something from us, you engage in our “Service” and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (“Terms of Service”, “Terms”), including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced herein and/or available by hyperlink. These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including without limitation users who are browsers, vendors, customers, merchants, and/ or contributors of content.

Our store is hosted by Square Inc & Shopify. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
SECTION 1 - ONLINE STORE TERMS
By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are of the legal age to consume alcohol in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.

A breach or violation of any of the Terms will result in an immediate termination of your Services.
Free Refills are available for a limited time. There is a limit of one Free Refill per household address. You will need to bring the bottle, cork, and Free Refill tag back to our Distillery to be eligible for a refill. The Free Refill is a good natured attempt to encourage recycling and a return visit to our distillery, ultimately your access to the service is subject to the approval of the Head Distiller.

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.
You understand that your content (not including credit card information), may be transferred unencrypted and involve (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices. Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.
You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service or any contact on the website through which the service is provided, without express written permission by us.
The headings used in this agreement are included for convenience only and will not limit or otherwise affect these Terms.

When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

We may disclose your personal information if we are required by law to do so or if you violate our Terms of Service.
SECTION 4 - SQUARE & ECWID
Our store is hosted on Square Inc and ECWID. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
Your data is stored through Square’s data storage, databases and the general Square application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Square stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

_square_visit, no data held, Persistent for 30 minutes from the last visit, Used by our website provider’s internal stats tracker to record the number of visits
_square_uniq, no data held, expires midnight (relative to the visitor) of the next day, Counts the number of visits to a store by a single customer.
cart, unique token, persistent for 2 weeks, Stores information about the contents of your cart.

storefront_digest, unique token, indefinite If the shop has a password, this is used to determine if the current visitor has access.
SECTION 8 - AGE OF CONSENT
By using this site, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your state or province of residence, or that you are the age of majority in your state or province of residence and you have given us your consent to allow any of your minor dependents to use this site.
If our store is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
