We've sourced some terrific exotic barrels so we will have a number of different single cask Rhums for you to enjoy in the new year. Our barrel finishing combines perfectly with the grassy earthy notes of Agricole style Rhum.
Agricole Rhum is made with sugar cane juice, not syrups or molasses a sugar refining waste product. Using Fresh Virgin Cane Juice gives a fresher drink, perfect for our tropical climate. The True Spirit of Queensland.
First we ferment sugar cane juice following the French Caribbean tradition. We begin our fermentation of the virgin sugar cane juice within a few hours of harvest from a local sugar mill. After about 48 hours fermentation we distill the result. We've rested the 73% ABV spirit for a month in stainless steel, and finished for 5 months in 40 year old Spanish ex - Pedro Ximénez Barrels.
The original 300L barrels have been re-coopered specially for Brisbane Distillery down to 100L. This short maturation in our tropical Queensland climate presents a truly Queensland spirit, mature beyond its years.
The fresh, vegetal cane spirit is rounded out by classic sultana & raisin character of Pedro Ximénez Sherry barrels. Christmas cake on the nose, date, toffee & hint of cocoa on the palate.
Perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks, or in any number of cocktails featuring aged rums.
* Free Refill Information
- To qualify for a free refill, you must have your free refill tag, your bottle, and your cork. Refills can only take place at our West End Distillery, and cannot be shipped.
- If you order a free refill bottle to be shipped, you will receive a tag, however must visit West End to redeem it. No discount is applied to customers unable to redeem the Free Refill
- If you have already redeemed your tag, you may still bring your bottle and cork to be refilled, and receive a $20 discount on every order of that spirit variety
- The Free Refill applies only to the spirit variety initially purchased (e.g. you cannot refill a Strawberry Eucalyptus Gin with Brown Snake Rhum)
